Terms of Use

Last updated: August 20, 2026

These terms cover your use of The Homestead Post. Using the site means you accept them.

What the advice is, and what it isn’t

We publish general home and garden guidance. It is not professional advice for your specific property, and it does not replace a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, arborist, pest control operator, structural engineer, attorney or tax professional.

Building codes, permit requirements and rebate programs vary by state, county and municipality, and they change. We flag that wherever we can, but the version that applies to you is the one your local authority publishes. Verify before you cut, wire, dig or file.

Do the safe thing

Some of what we cover carries real risk: working at height, electrical circuits, gas appliances, structural changes, pesticides and herbicides, tree work. If a job is beyond your experience or equipment, hire someone. You take on the risk of any work you choose to do yourself, and we are not liable for injury, damage or loss resulting from it.

Accuracy

We check what we publish and correct what turns out to be wrong. Even so, content is provided “as is”, without warranty that it is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose. Prices, product availability and program rules go out of date faster than anything else on this site.

Your use of the site

You may read, print and share our pages for personal, non-commercial use, and quote short passages with credit and a link. You may not republish articles in full, scrape the site at scale, train models on it, or present our work as your own.

Our content

Text, photographs, illustrations and layout on this site are protected by copyright. Product names and logos that appear belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively — their presence does not imply any endorsement, affiliation or sponsorship.

Links out

We link to other sites when they are useful. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for what they publish or how they handle your data.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
